Welcome Home to Brevard County
50 miles east of Orlando, Brevard County offers its residents and visitors 72 miles of beautiful beaches, shopping for the most eclectic tastes, a plethora of outdoor and water activities, unique dining opportunities and some of the absolute best real estate deals on the east coast! Brevard’s communities cater to young professionals, growing families and “snow birds” (retirees) alike, with its laid-back atmosphere, tropical surroundings, and weather that would make any northerner jealous! Home to over 547,000 Floridians, Brevard County is truly a place that offers something for everyone!
Despite the recent NASA closings, the Space Coast is thriving. Kennedy Space Center helped to make the county’s mark, when it opened in 1969 and 40 years later, its presence is still felt. KSC retains 15,000 employees, contributing to national space programs and has “launched” several multi-million dollar exhibits, keeping the Space Center at the top of lists of families, looking for a historical and educational experience. This unique opportunity allows tourism to greatly contribute to the local economy, along with agriculture, scientific exploration and manufacturing, military bases and defense contracting corporations.
As the 9th most populated county in Florida, Brevard offers its residents unsurpassed employment opportunities, including positions with Defense and technology-driven companies. National, statewide and local employer incentives have risen significantly, since the announcement of the closing of NASA’s interests on the Space Coast. Employers are flocking to the area to take advantage of attractive tax programs, being offered to new local businesses.
