I met Mark and Martha through common passions of ours, CrossFit and food.

Prior to moving to Gainesville, Mark was crazy enough to show up to Space Coast CrossFit to work out at 5 AM. It just so happens that so am I.

After getting to know Mark (which BTW you can learn A LOT about someone at 5 AM when you’re completely exhausted) it turns out we have very similar life philosophies and much more in common than either of us expected.

I ended up meeting Martha down the road after she and Mark explored starting a meal prep business. Given my experience with website design, they asked me to help with their website and eCommerce setup. I was more than happy to get involved.

Shortly after getting started with their new business, Mark was offered his dream position in Gainesville. After some serious deliberation, Mark and Martha decided it was time to move their family across the state and they needed to sell their home. That’s when Mark had asked me to help.

Let me start off by saying that selling their home was not an easy task. After 67 days on the market, 37 showings, and 1 canceled contract, the right buyers finally walked through the front door. Pepper in a multitude of repair requests, re-negotiation after negotiation, lender delays, and a catastrophic hurricane, things were pretty shaky.

Overall, I learned a ton from this transaction, but my biggest takeaway is the importance of trust. Mark & Martha have never sold a house before, so all of this was new to them, and they totally relied on me and the Carpenter / Kessel Homeselling Team to get the job done. For that, I am truly thankful and more appreciative than you can imagine.

Tension and stress levels were high, hundreds of emails were exchanged, what seemed like thousands of text messages and phone calls were made, but at the end of the day, we closed.
