Terry originally moved to Brevard County in 1983. Since that time, he has seen his home town change considerably. “There was an egg farm behind my house in West Melbourne and Minton road wasn’t paved if you crossed over I95.” Terry often reminisces. He moved to Orlando for a time after college but relocated back to Brevard County full time in 2011. Since then, he has been a resident of Indialantic. While not an official title, many of his friends refer to him as “the Mayor.” “I have no political aspirations at this time,” he maintains with a laugh.
In 2016, Terry started selling real estate in Brevard County. His clients love his local insight and his willingness to try and exceed their expectations.
"Terry would always say and do things that seemed creative but somewhat unconventional…but those things would always end up benefiting us throughout the duration of the transaction.”
Terry has a passion for others and his accolades would attest to that. In 2012, Terry joined his former high school baseball coach, Tom Dooley, to become the assistant coach and hitting coordinator for the Melbourne Central Catholic baseball program. He coached through the 2020 Covid shortened year while amassing 3 State playoff appearances and 2 State Championships.
Terry always excelled as a very competitive athlete, having lettered in 3 sports in high school (baseball, basketball, and football), before going on to Eastern Florida State College and Florida State University where he lettered in baseball. Terry even played in the 1998 College World Series where he anchored the middle of the batting order for the Seminoles.
After graduation, Terry stayed in Tallahassee to pursue his Masters degree in Interactive Communication Technologies. “It was one of the first programs of its kind,” Terry says. “It gave me a very solid foundation when it comes to technology, marketing, and communications.” Terry also has a passion for public speaking as he was a college professor teaching at Florida State University, Valencia College, Full Sail University, and Eastern Florida State College. He has taught many courses that range from Marketing to Mass Media Communications.
But throughout all of Terry’s adventures, real estate remains his passion. “I just love knowing today won’t be like yesterday. No two days are the same. Just in the past year, things have evolved and changed so much. While it can sometimes be stressful, it’s also so very exciting and challenging. It’s the perfect career for the competitive athlete!”
You can check Terry out on his new YouTube and Facebook channel “What Up Brevard!”, a play on words as if you get to meet Terry, he will most likely greet you with a friendly “What up?”
Terry says “I started What Up Brevard! because I saw how fast the real estate market can change. In 2022, we saw it change on a dime! While I would love to call everyone I know as I see the market evolving, I found it would be considerably easier to start posting content that people would find useful, and hopefully a little entertaining.”
"I love my community and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else in the world. Sometimes I don’t even want to visit anywhere else…but you gotta have perspective right???”
